Happy New Year! Hello, 2020!
A lot of people like to make new year resolutions/goals and by March they’ve already failed with some of those goals. Take for instance exercise. I guarantee you that your local gym will be packed in January and by mid-February/March, the crowd will be thinning out. Don’t be one of those folks.
Here are a few tips on how to make and keep your 2020 goals:
Make Realistic Goals
This one is simple right? Don’t say you’re going to become vegan in one month when you eat meat every day for every meal. Start small by adding one vegan meal to your menu weekly then increase vegan meals as time goes on until all of your meals are vegan. Realistic!
Don’t Make A Lot of Goals
You don’t need to make a list of 20 goals. You’re going to look at the list, feel overwhelmed and then give up. Bigger isn’t always better.
Include Family and Friends
Making goals with your family and/or friends can be fun. It will give you an accountability partner and you’ll be motivated to complete that goal.
I’ve made a few goals for myself(family) this year.
- Stop using paper towels as a family. We’re down to two rolls. The pack from Sam’s Club has lasted for 6 months. We already have been using a Norwex Body Cloth as a napkin for meals for years so I think going without paper towels is doable.
- Continue our minimalist journey. When we moved to Colorado in June, I started this process. Our kitchen, living room and bathrooms are minimalized. Still a work in progress with other areas.
- Make a blog schedule and stick to it. This has always been hard for me, the sticking to it part. I’ve made the schedule already though!
- Exercise twice a week. I’m being realistic here because I prefer to exercise outside. With the Colorado weather, I can’t always do that. I’m not counting the weekend because I exercise pretty much every weekend with us being out with the kids doing something.
