How to Organize Your Pantry

Do you just throw things in your pantry?  There is kinda a spot for things but really everything is randomly thrown in there.  I’m going to let you know how you can organize your pantry for CHEAP. $20 or less. 

I LOVE to organize but I don’t like spending a lot of cash to do so.  So I stroll around at Dollar Tree to see what they have to help me with my addiction.  We bought our home in 2014.  When you buy a new home or move into a new place it gives you the opportunity to reorganize things, redecorate, get rid of things, buy new things etc.  ONE of the things I wanted to do in our new home was to have a better system for the pantry.  I would put things in there neatly and similar items together but I wasn’t happy with it.  As I’ve told you in this post where I organized my laundry room, I’m a little OCD. (Even though I haven’t been tested)  Here is a picture of our pantry BEFORE I organized it.

While strolling through Dollar Tree I found some containers that I felt would work well in the pantry.  Of course, I got blue because blue is my favorite color.  I was planning to categorized everything and put it in a bin.  Sounds simple enough right. So all you need to organize your pantry are:

-Containers
-Sharpie

That’s it! SIMPLE and CHEAP! If you have a label maker.  You can use that instead of the sharpie.  (I just thought about the label maker.  I might go through and put labels.  Project for this week! I love my label maker!) Here is a picture of our pantry AFTER I organized it.

I know that everyone’s pantry items vary but here are some of the categories I wrote on my bins so that you can get started.

-Snacks
-Flour/Sugar
-Oils/Sweeteners
-Salad
-Oatmeal/Grits
-Baking supplies
-Pasta/Grains
-Storage
-Misc.
