Updated June 2020
It’s August and I’m talking about Father’s Day. I know, I know, LATE! I’m trying to give you ideas for next year.
My husband has always told me that all he ever wanted was to be a husband and dad. He’s great at both! Every year since he’s been a dad I have made a personalized gift for him. I feel that personalized gifts are special. They have meaning. You know that the person put thought and effort into it instead of going to the store to buy a tie. I also like personalize gifts because when you look back at the gifts you remember that time in your life and it makes you smile.
Year 1 as A Dad
Honestly, I can’t remember what I gave him. Bryce was born in April. Father’s Day was in June. We were living in a one bedroom apartment on Harbour Island in Tampa and I didn’t have my craft supplies unpacked. I’m sure I did something AMAZING. lol It was his FIRST Father’s Day!! Hmmmmm, I’ll have to think more on this.
Year 2 as A Dad
I had a Shutterfly book made with pictures of my husband and Bryce with different things they did throughout the year.
Year 3 as A Dad
I put photos of my husband and our two little ones in a frame.
Year 4 as A Dad
We made a handprint craft. I LOVE doing crafts with the kid’s handprints and footprints because they grow up so fast. If you have that handprint craft you can look back and remember the young years.
Year 5 as A Dad
We made another handprint craft. The kids love getting paint all over their hands. It was fun to make with them. We were whispering about making a surprise for Daddy. They’re a little older now so they make craft time more fun for me. As you can see Brynn never stays still long enough for me to get a “true” handprint. It works though. lol
All of these crafts are hung on the wall next to my husband’s side of the bed. That wasn’t my doing. My husband did that. He is a proud daddy.
Year 6 as A Dad
We had just moved to CO the week before Father’s Day. I had no clue what I would do for Father’s Day. I found this frame in Target. We had gone on a few adventures in our first week in CO and taken some pictures. So I printed one of the pictures of our first week in CO for his first Father’s Day in CO. On Father’s Day, we went for a hike and the kids gave their Daddy the frame before the hike. It was so cute watching them surprise him.
Yes, these are ideas for Father’s Day gifts but you could do personalized gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, or “just because” gifts. “Just Because” gifts are awesome!
Do you like personalized gifts? What are some personalized gifts that you have given? Or received?
